15 Journaling Questions for Self-Love

Practising self-love is often harder for most. Knowing why, as well as how is a great way to start. Here a set of questions to journal on for self-love and why you may be stopping yourself from showing yourself self compassion.



Practise of Self-Love


The practise of self- love is just that, actively finding ways to love your mind and body. Finding the courage to let the ability of your mind and body grow.


These can be in the small things, like a smile after completing hard work out and appreciating your ability to do it and the ability to have challenged yourself to turn up.


Journaling for Self Love


Journaling is an excellent way to explore and cultivate self-love. Here are some journaling questions to help guide your self-discovery and foster a deeper understanding of your own worth and value.


Journaling Questions for Self- Love


  1. What does self-love mean to you?

  2. How do you show yourself love and care daily?

  3. In what areas of your life do you need to practice more self-love?

  4. How can you be kinder and more compassionate towards yourself?

  5. How do your actions and choices reflect your level of self-love?

  6. What are some self-care activities that help you feel nurtured and valued?

  7. How can your set boundaries to protect your well-being and self-love?

  8. What limiting beliefs do you hold about yourself that may hinder self-love?

  9. How can you turn negative self-talk into positive, affirming thoughts?

  10. How does practicing self-love impact your relationships with others?

  11. What accomplishments are you proud of, and how can you celebrate them?

  12. How can you forgive yourself for past mistakes and move forward with self-compassion?

  13. What does your ideal self-love routine look like, and how can you implement it?

  14. How can you express gratitude for your body and all it does for you?

  15. Place your hand on your heart, actually do this, and stay there for 8 deep breaths What did you thank yourself for? What acts of love have you noticed? Write them down.


Acts of Compassion


Touch is a show of compassion, suggesting to hug yourself is not the way forward for me, but feeling your heartbeat, remembering that you are worthy of compassion and loved with such a small gesture is great. In that single act, you are tuning in. Bringing your hearing to yourself, stopping, and noticing that you need to give yourself compassion.


Reflection and Action


Take the time to reflect on these questions and write down your thoughts. Regular journaling can help you identify patterns and areas for growth, enabling you to cultivate a stronger sense of self-love over time.

These questions can be repeated as regularly as week and monthly. There are a great reminder to be compassionate with yourself.

Change is in the action that journaling helps us take, so remember that and write down them down along with your journals.
